ANCIENT WOODEN KOURANKO MASK WITH FETISH MATERIAL - SIERRA LEONE

 

The Kuranko, also spelled Kouranko are a Mande people living in Guinea and Sierra Leone. The Koranko occupy a large section in a mountainous region within northeastern Sierra Leone and southern Guinea. Each Kuranko village is led by a chief and a group of elders.

Beautiful, old and rare Kouranko mask from Liberia. The mask is made of wood and in good condition. The bump at the top contains fetish material. A gem!
