Older wooden PENDE MALADIE statue - CONGO

Superb older sickness or maladie statue from the Pende people of Congo.

Those statues were used to chase away sickness out of tribe members.

Sickness statues have a deformed face features like for exemple eyes, mouth or nose.

Condition: good with wear and tear (some splits cracks...). Please have a good look at the pictures as they are part of the description.

Dated: 2nd half 20th century
